Just when it starts to get cold and it’s not quite as sunny as we would like it to be, an event happens in the city that brightens our spirits. Yesterday we attended an art opening at the Graffiti Gallery here in Winnipeg called Collective Chaos – a project that was directed by en masse, a Montreal based art group along with 14 Winnipeg artists.
Here’s a little more info:
EN MASSE is a Montreal based, multi-artist collaborative drawing project. It draws life from the many creative individuals who take part in the project to create large-scale, highly spontaneous drawings in black and white.
Artwork by: Jason Jason Botkin (En Masse-Montreal) and Jeremy Shantz (En Masse-Montreal). Contributing Winnipeg Artists: Kenneth Lavallee, Gabrielle Funk, Takashi Iwasaki, Brian Hunter, Julia Wake, Dany Reede, Jay Cabredo, Rodrigo Pradel, Patrick Skene, Shaun Morin, Nereo II, Pat Lazo, Christian Procter and Matt Bohemier. Do yourself a favour and go check it out. Yours truly, charcoal.
